KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – As the Kansas City Chiefs look at options to fill their vacant offensive coordinator position, a familiar face could be an early favorite.
NFL reporter Ian Rapoport posted to social media Monday morning that the Chiefs have requested permission from the Chicago Bears to interview Eric Bieniemy. ESPN’s Adam Schefter also reported the same information.
Matt Nagy, who most recently served as the Chiefs’ OC, had his contract expire after the 2025 season and has interviewed with the Tennessee Titans for their head coach vacancy.

Bieniemy, who served as the Chiefs’ offensive coordinator from 2018-2022, was the running backs coach for the Bears this past season.
In his final season with Kansas City, Bieniemy helped the Chiefs lead the league in scoring (29.2 points per game), according to his Bears bio.
After leaving the Chiefs, Bieniemy was hired as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders in 2023, and he held the same title for UCLA in 2024.
