Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile and offensive coordinator Grant Udinski have both earned head coaching interviews this hiring cycle.

Campanile has had interviews with Miami and Baltimore, while Udinski has a second interview with Cleveland.

So what has made these two first-time coordinators in 2025 garner some attention this offseason?

Well, in part, this comes with success.

As a team, the Jaguars would win 13 games this past season. During their eight-game winning streak to end the season, the Jacksonville offense was one of the most productive in football, averaging almost 33 points per game.

The defense under Campanile in that same stretch held opponents to under 15 points per game, and this was one of the best units all season at forcing takeaways.

But beyond the production, the schemes that these coordinators operate within are based on multiplicity, which can be difficult for opponents to game plan for.

Campanile’s defense has elements of Vic Fangio’s defense, Jeff Hafley’s, and others. Udinski has come up the coaching ranks in the Sean McVay system under Kevin O’Connell and now Liam Coen. That scheme is known for its unpredictability.

Both offensive and defensive schemes throw a variety of looks at opponents.

A head coach with a malleable scheme that is quick to adjust is a good foundation for any team to build around.

Udinski is only 30, but teams are always looking for the next up-and-coming offensive mind. Campanile has the ability to rally players around him with the best of them.

Put all of that together, and it’s easy to see why Campanile and Udinski are garnering interest.
