Former New York Jets player Brian Winters’ wife Jenny says the NFL drug tested him on their wedding day

The wife of a former football pro claims the NFL drug tested her husband “whenever and literally wherever,” including right before they said “I do.”

Jenny Winters, the wife of former New York Jets offensive guard Brian Winters, has a TikTok series dedicated to spotlighting “little-known, sometimes juicy” facts about the NFL, and specifically about being romantically involved with a player in the league.

In one of the videos, shared Jan. 13, she claimed that the league drug tested her husband on their wedding day.

“One thing about the NFL: they are gonna drug test you whenever and literally wherever they please,” said the podcast host and mom of three. “My husband was actually drug tested at our wedding because the NFL thought it was necessary.”

Explaining a bit more about what the impromptu testing actually looks like, she continued, “They have people all over the country. They will come to you with their big briefcase full of drug testing accoutrement and just test away.”

Cut to the day she and the retired NFL player were set to exchange vows.

“The morning of our wedding,” she recalled, “my husband got a phone call from the drug testers. He said, ‘Yeah, great, but I’m literally getting married today.’ And they said, ‘Great, send us the address. We’ll be there.’ ”

Poking fun at the situation, the self-proclaimed “retired WAG” added, “Nothing screams wedding romance like peeing in a cup while a strange man looks over your shoulder, you know?”

The mom of three also shared another instance in which the NFL surprised the retired offensive lineman — who played in the league for nine seasons, most with the Jets — with a drug test.

“And a few months before that one,” she said of the wedding incident, “my husband posted a video of him pulling three Ford trucks — I will post the video someday, it’s like the hottest thing I’ve ever seen — and the next day, someone was at our doorstep testing him.”

Jenny also fielded some clarifying questions and other comments on the candid TikTok — including revealing that the test didn’t even take place during the NFL season.

One user expressed shock at the timing, writing, “Your wedding?! That is crazy. Was it during football season?” In response, the former WAG wrote, “No! July!” Another shared amusement at the fact that the league seemingly “saw him do something strong” and decided to test him. Jenny responded with several laughing emojis.

She also said that Brian passed each of the tests “with flying colors,” and agreed with a comment stating that they “have zero problems” with the NFL’s drug testing strategy.

All NFL players receive one annual drug test, and “may be tested up to six times” randomly, according to the NFL Players Association website. Athletes “have 24 hours to complete the test after notification from Drug Free Sport,” the website states.
