According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Kansas City Chiefs are set to hire Eric Bieniemy to replace embattled offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, whose contract with the team will expire at the end of the 2025 season.
An experienced leader, Bieniemy rose to prominence as Kansas City’s offensive coordinator from 2018 until 2022, when he left the Chiefs to take a promotion with the Washington Commanders.
After serving as Washington’s assistant head coach & offensive coordinator in 2023, Bieniemy took his talents to the college ranks for the 2024 season, securing a position with the UCLA Bruins in the same role.
In 2025, Bieniemy was hired by the Chicago Bears to serve as their running backs coach.
While he is best remembered for his five-year tenure as second in command of head coach Andy Reid’s offense, Bieniemy also served as Kansas City’s running backs coach from 2013 until 2017.
