Two Alabama players started their NFL careers as first-round draft picks on April 24, and both have ended their first seasons on the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie team for the 2025 campaign.

Tyler Booker of the Dallas Cowboys joined the Seattle Seahawks’ Grey Zabel as the All-Rookie guards, and Jihaad Campbell of the Philadelphia Eagles joined the Baltimore Ravens’ Teddye Buchanan and the Cleveland Browns’ Carson Schwesinger as the All-Rookie linebackers.

Schwesinger won the PFWA NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan won the PFWA NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award as well as the PFWA NFL Rookie of the Year Award for the 2025 season.

Dallas used the 12th selection in the NFL Draft to add Booker, and he went right into the Cowboys’ lineup at right guard. Booker missed the fourth, fifth and sixth games of the season because of an ankle injury. Except for those games, Booker played every offensive snap for Dallas in 2025.

Booker is the first Alabama alumnus selected at the guard position since the PFWA All-Rookie selections began in 1974. He’s the first offensive lineman from the Crimson Tide to make All-Rookie since tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. of the Cleveland Browns in 2020.

Philadelphia traded up to draft Campbell with the 31st pick even though the Eagles had their starting linebackers in place in Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean. But while Dean was sidelined recovering from a torn patellar tendon suffered in Philadelphia’s playoff march to Super Bowl LIX last season, Campbell started the first eight games of 2025. The rookie returned to the starting lineup in the final two games of the regular season.

Campbell had 80 tackles, two tackles for loss, one interception, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery while playing 710 defensive snaps.

Campbell is the first linebacker from Alabama to earn All-Rookie recognition since Rueben Foster with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017.
