After missing the playoffs for an eighth consecutive season, the Atlanta Falcons cleaned house by firing head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot. Two weeks later, the team named Kevin Stefanski the 20th head coach in franchise history.
While Atlanta still needs to hire a new general manager, landing Stefanski was a key first step for team owner Arthur Blank and president of football Matt Ryan. The Falcons are set to introduce Stefanski next Tuesday, per team reporter Tori McElhaney.

“The Atlanta Falcons will hold an introductory press conference with new head coach Kevin Stefanski on Tuesday, Jan. 27 along with owner Arthur Blank and president of football Matt Ryan at Mercedes-Benz Stadium,” McElhaney wrote on social media.
With another week before the introductory presser, Stefanski has more time to assemble his staff. Plus, the additional week gives Ryan and Blank time to look for a new general manager.
Atlanta has yet to formally interview anyone for the GM vacancy, but the four other candidates who interviewed for its president of football role — Ian Cunningham (Bears assistant GM), Brandt Tilis (Panthers EVP), Josh Williams (49ers scouting/football director) and Mike Disner (Lions COO) — qualify due to Atlanta’s front office structure.
The Falcons also brought back defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich and hired Bill Callahan as their new offensive line coach. Former Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees is expected to take over the same position in Atlanta, according to an NFL Network report.
Check back for more updates as the Falcons fill out their front office and coaching staff!
