The Green Bay Packers finished with a 9-7 record in the 2025 season, placing second in the NFC North and making the playoffs. Despite facing the 11-6 Chicago Bears in the wild card, they were considered favorites.
Unfortunately, Jordan Love and company ended up losing to the Bears 31-27. Making matters worse, Green Bay collapsed after leading 21-6 entering the fourth quarter of the contest. Caleb Williams led Chicago to a 25-point fourth quarter to turn things around and steal the win from their archrivals.

Now, amid the offseason, the Packers are focused on fixing their team to get over that playoff hump. They already worked out an extension with head coach Matt LaFleur, while also signing multiple players to reserve/future contracts such as defensive lineman Jaden Crumedy, quarterback Kyle McCord and wide receiver Isaiah Neyor.

On Tuesday, however, the Packers announced that they have also released cornerback Trevon Diggs, whom they signed after the Dallas Cowboys released the two-time Pro Bowler in December.

Diggs played just one game for the Packers in the regular season and recorded two combined tackles. In the playoffs against the Bears, he had only one tackle.
With the move, the Packers were able to free up $15.5 million in cap space for 2026, according to Spotrac. Diggs has three years and $57 million remaining in the five-year, $97 million deal he signed with the Cowboys in 2023.
Diggs is now a free agent for the first time in his career. He can now sign with anyone, including the teams still in the NFL playoffs.
