GREEN BAY, Wisconsin — The Packers on Tuesday released former All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was signed by Green Bay in December after he was let go by the Dallas Cowboys.

The Packers were in need of help at corner when they signed Diggs because of injuries. Diggs played only 34 snaps in two games for the Packers, including just one snap in Green Bay’s 31-27 playoff loss to the Chicago Bears on Jan. 10.

Yahoo! Sports reports Diggs had three years left on a five-year, $97 million contract he signed with the Cowboys. The contract means Diggs is unlikely to be claimed by another team off waivers.

Diggs had a breakout season in Dallas in 2021 when he intercepted 11 passes. He has been hampered by injuries the past three seasons, playing in only eight games in 2025. He did not have a pass breakup or an interception, ESPN reports.

The Cowboys released Diggs after he requested to remain in the Washington, D.C., area after Dallas defeated the Commanders, 30-23, on Dec. 25, Yahoo! Sports reports. Coach Brian Schottenheimer denied the request, but Diggs still skipped the team flight back to Dallas and stayed in Washington.
