The Pittsburgh Steelers may be looking at a big departure from their front office, as assistant general manager Andy Weidl is reportedly drawing interest from the Atlanta Falcons.

On Tuesday night, Steelers insider Mark Kaboly reported that Weidl will interview for the Falcons’ vacant general manager position following Atlanta’s decision to part ways with Terry Fontenot, who previously filled the role from 2021-2025.

Weidl joined the Steelers’ front office almost immediately after Omar Khan was named general manager, playing a huge part in scouting as he prepared Pittsburgh for the future.

Considering how well respected Weidl is in the league, it wouldn’t be surprising if, sooner rather than later, the Steelers have another vacancy that needs filling.

As if potentially losing Weidl wasn’t enough, Steelers Nation was forced to say farewell to a fan-favorite coach — special teams coordinator Danny Smith — who found a new team on Tuesday.
