Incredibly, for a franchise often overlooked by the national media, the Tennessee Titans have received a lot of positive coverage since the hiring of Robert Saleh.
While the majority believe he will do a tremendous job with the Titans’ defense, there is a question about who will be the next offensive coordinator and what that coach will do to elevate Cam Ward and the Titans’ offense.
The latest to chime in was Dan Orlovsky, who joined Pat McAfee to discuss the hire and give his thoughts on how Saleh fits with the Titans.
“Pat, I think Robert Saleh is a good coach, and he’s a good hire by the Titans. There’s a reason people are excited about this. They have a talented quarterback in Cam Ward – one coordinator told me he could be great. They’ve got high draft picks coming up, a brand new stadium on the way.” Orlovsky said. “Now with Saleh there, who’s a defensive-minded guy, it’s really important who they hire as their offensive coordinator to develop that young talent and build the offense around him. Let’s see what happens – this could be a fun rebuild in Tennessee.”
He went on to say, “Don’t coach the special out of him” regarding Ward, and he was spot on. Statistically, Ward was not great in 2025, but he flashed the potential to be special, and most importantly, improved as the season wore on. The potential is there for Tennessee to have an outstanding offense; they just need to find the right coach to unlock it.
