The Los Angeles Rams have a relatively young roster heading into the 2025 NFL season.

As of this writing, the Rams roster has only eight players over the age of 30. That includes quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and Jimmy Garoppolo. The rest young and developing players across the offense and defense who should play big roles with the team for the foreseeable future.

While the Rams aren’t an old team, two of their veterans made Pro Football Focus’ Dalton Wasserman’s list of the top 30 players over the age of 30 heading into the 2025 season.

Stafford rounded out the list at No. 30, but the other Rams player ranked was one of its newest players, receiver Davante Adams, who came in at No. 19.

“After a rocky start to 2024 due to quarterback instability and a midseason trade, Adams regained form down the stretch,” Wasserman wrote. “From Week 9 through Week 18, he earned an 82.1 receiving grade (13th among receivers) and posted 770 yards (seventh-most). With a better setup in Los Angeles, a bounce-back season could be in store.

“Stafford rebounded from a rough start in 2024 to help nearly topple the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles in the postseason. From Week 8 onward, he earned an 80.9 passing grade, 11th in the league over that span. While age and mobility are concerns, he remains capable of elite-level play when protected.”

The youthful aspect of the Rams roster is important, given the trajectory of the team.

In the short term, the Rams are competing for a Super Bowl and will want the best and most experienced players at prime positions. However, this is a roster that is also uniquely built for the long-term with key defensive and offensive players still early in their careers. Puka Nacua, Kyren Williams, Jared Verse, Braden Fiske and Byron Young and just some of the important names that are still fresh NFL faces that will play huge roles for the future of the Rams.

Stafford and Adams are, however, incredibly valuable for the Rams’ current plans and their inclusion on a list full of some of the best players in the NFL speaks volumes as to how L.A. will fare in the next few years.
