KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Days after missing out on the Tennessee Titans head coaching job, former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy is reportedly interviewing with a team he’s familiar with.
Nagy, according to several reports, is set to interview for the vacant offensive coordinator job with the Philadelphia Eagles. Philadelphia moved on from Kevin Patullo after a disappointing offensive season and a loss in the NFC Wild Card round this season.
Nagy, 47, was one of two final candidates for the Titans job, but former Chiefs front office member and current Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi instead chose San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh for the role.
The Eagles have reportedly interviewed former Giants head coach Brian Daboll and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard for their OC role. Daboll, however, is now a rumored candidate for the Buffalo Bills open head coach position.
Nagy’s familiarity with the Eagles organization stems from a brief period of time as a player and five seasons on staff for the Eagles when Andy Reid was the head coach. Nagy worked under Reid in Philadelphia from 2008-12, working as a coaching intern, coaches’ assistant and offensive quality control coach during those five seasons.

Since Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni took over in Philadelphia, the organization has alternated between losing its offensive coordinator as a result of success, and firing them. Shane Steichen went from offensive coordinator in 2021-22 to becoming the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
A year later, Brian Johnson was fired after a one-and-done trip to the playoffs.
In 2024, Kellen Moore led the Eagles offense, resulting in a Super Bowl 59 win over the Chiefs and Moore taking the New Orleans Saints head coaching job.
Nagy, whose contract expired at the conclusion of the 2025 season, is being replaced in Kansas City by former Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. If Nagy takes a job outside of Kansas City that is not a head coaching position, it’ll be the first NFL job he’s held that is not on Andy Reid’s staff.
