The Atlanta Falcons signed tight end Joshua Simon to a reserve/future contract, the team announced on Wednesday. Simon previously signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft and spent the year on the practice squad.

A standout at South Carolina, Simon led the Gamecocks with 519 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2024. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein projected Simon as a sixth-round pick in the tight end’s 2025 scouting profile.

“He was frequently used on play-action drags and quick-game throws underneath,” wrote Zierlein. “He has good run-after-catch talent and makes an honest effort as a blocker.”

The Falcons have now signed eight total players to reserve/future deals (see the full list below). Former practice squad wide receiver Nick Nash signed a reserve/future deal with the Washington Commanders.

The Falcons are expected to name Tommy Rees as their next offensive coordinator, but the team has made no official announcement. Rees has experience working with head coach Kevin Stefanski in Cleveland. The team also brought back defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, which is good news for Atlanta’s promising rookie draft class.
