Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh has agreed to become the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans.

Jets fans will anxiously be paying attention to how Saleh performs in his second stint. His arrival in Nashville makes the Titans a threat to try and poach the New York Jets for free agents this offseason.

The Titans are scheduled to possess a league-leading $93.5 million in cap space, according to Over The Cap.

They’ll probably have over $100 million when free agency actually arrives. Saleh and their general manager Mike Borgonzi possess the resources to improve the roster around franchise quarterback Cam Ward.

The Jets have several pending free agents who could interest the Titans. Running back Breece Hall could be a major target. Many analysts expect the Titans to make veteran ball carrier Tony Pollard a salary cap casualty this offseason. If so, Hall could be viewed by Saleh as the ideal replacement.

Guard Alijah Vera-Tucker is another. The Titans have a pending free agent in veteran right guard Kevin Zeitler. If Zeitler signs elsewhere or retires, Vera-Tucker, who was Saleh’s 14th overall selection in 2021, could be another target.

The Jets are slated to have $66.2 million in cap space, fifth-most in the league. Should Mougey prefer to retain talents like Hall and Vera-Tucker, he possesses the financial flexibility needed to do so. If not, Saleh and the Titans will be lurking.
