NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Three days after agreeing to terms, Robert Saleh signed his five-year deal to become the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans.
Saleh comes to Nashville from San Francisco, where he was the defensive coordinator last season. Prior to that, he spent 3-plus years as the head coach of the New York Jets, where he accumulated a 20-36 record.
Saleh was hired by the Titans after an extensive, two-week search by General Manager Mike Borgonzi. Saleh was one of 16 people the Titans GM interviewed for the job.
The new head coach will be introduced Wednesday, Jan. 28.
“For me, this was the most desirable location, the most desirable team,” said Saleh.
“What I learned about the organization, the more phone calls I made, the more people I spoke to, this building, I feel like it fits me, will fit us, the best. The people here are unbelievable, and they’re the type of people you want to work with. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and I am really excited about the city of Nashville and bringing a winner back to the city.”

Saleh will be introduced at a press conference on Wednesday, January 28, at 2 p.m.
His immediate, and likely most important task, is finding the right offensive coordinator to call plays and help develop quarterback Cam Ward into the player the Titans believe he can be. The search for that person is ongoing.
