It’s been a few days since word broke on Robert Saleh agreeing to become the next head coach of the Tennessee Titans, and on Thursday, it became official.
The Titans’ organization released a social media post welcoming Saleh to the team and stating, “It’s official.”
This news comes on the heels of coaching news within the organization breaking throughout the afternoon, with some coaches being let go as Saleh works to build his initial staff in Nashville. At this point, we know the fates of the coordinators: John “Bones” Fassel is returning to special teams, and both Dennard Wilson (defense) and Nick Holz (offense) are being released from their contracts.
The move to hire Saleh has been met with differing opinions across the media and social media, but it has begun to spark enthusiasm and excitement around the organization. Now, Saleh will be tasked with quieting doubters and meeting expectations, and his looming decision on an offensive coordinator will be a start.
Once the staff is in place and with the draft and free agency around the corner, Titans fans are looking forward to seeing what this change has in store, and whether Saleh can return the team to relevance after a few seasons of dysfunction.
