The early offseason is still relatively new for the Kansas City Chiefs after missing the playoffs for the first time in a decade. The coaching staff is seeing the immediate impact of a 6-11 campaign with changes taking place quickly in preparation for next season.

The latest casualties from head coach Andy Reid this week, according to Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star, were assistant running backs coach Mark Deleone and offensive assistant Kevin Saxton.

Deleone was in his second stint with the Chiefs, from 2013 to 2018, where he served as Defensive quality control coach, Assistant linebackers coach, and Inside linebackers coach. He had stops with the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Baltimore Ravens before returning to the Chiefs last season.

Saxton ends his tenure after three years with the Chiefs. He was previously the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach of Benedict College. The Chiefs are heavily focused on rebuilding the offense with the return of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.
