Draft: The Lions could look for a young quarterback later in the draft to start developing and have compete for a backup or third quarterback spot. Detroit last drafted a quarterback (Hendon Hooker) in 2023 in the third round.

Garrett Nussmeier (LSU), Drew Allar (Penn State), Cade Klubnik (Clemson), Behren Morton (Texas Tech), Sawyer Robertson (Baylor), Diego Pavia (Vanderbilt) and Luke Altmyer (Illinois) are some mid to late-round prospects to consider.

Quotable: “Yeah, there’s been challenges, but it’s part of the job,” Goff said at the end of the regular season. “There’s ups and downs through the season. We would’ve liked to get on a little bit of a stretch there at some point in the last eight games and be able to string a few together and get out of that adversity.

“But we weren’t able to and it sucks and I wish there was a magic potion that would have fixed everything, but there isn’t. It’s about work and doing the right thing over and over and being on the same page and communication and execution, the whole thing. So, yeah. I don’t know. How have I weathered it? Hopefully well, but I don’t know.”
