Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry isn’t planning on retiring anytime soon.
In an interview with D.J. Siddiqi of The Escapist, Henry said he hasn’t even thought about retirement, adding, “I’m motivated more than ever. I really appreciated this year and how it all went down, because it motivated me to be ready to get back next year and work as hard as I can in the offseason to be better. I don’t have a timeline. I’m just ready to go.”
Henry finished the 2025 season second in the NFL in rushing with 1,595 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also averaged 5.2 yards per carry, which was higher than his career average of 4.9.
Longevity has been the separator for Henry, the NFL’s active leader in rushing attempts, which he credits to strict attention to diet, training, and recovery. While the Ravens fell short of the playoffs at 8–9 after a slow, injury-filled start, Henry emphasized that small mistakes often decide games, stressing the importance of execution and complementary football.
Rather than looking ahead to retirement, Henry remains focused on improving this offseason and helping Baltimore take the next step in 2026.
