Kansas City Chiefs legend Travis Kelce has a slew of things to decide this offseason, and he made his first this week that might show his hand at what else he is planning once the Super Bowl comes to a close.

After making it to three straight Super Bowls, the superstar tight end has been watching from the comfort of his home as the playoffs have unfolded.

While he’s been keeping up with the games as he reviews them weekly with his older brother, Jason Kelce, on “New Heights,” their popular podcast, the final game of his NFL pro career might have been a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on the road.

Although he was named to his 11th Pro Bowl team and asked to play in “The Pro Bowl Games,” a collection of mini-contests, including a flag football showcase, Kelce has officially bowed out from participating during Super Bowl week.

Buffalo Bills’ big man Dalton Kincaid will replace him on the roster. Still, ironically enough, he will almost assuredly be switched out as well, as the tight end may need PCL surgery this offseason.

With Kelce opting out of the festivities on the field, the ultimate decision on whether he returns to play next season remains unclear. He has been open that he will be taking his time and that he’ll know the answer when it comes to him, but the Chiefs are patiently awaiting his decision, having to deal with a tricky cap situation.

If he does retire, it will give Kansas City more space to maneuver in free agency and the draft, but they will need to replace what has been their lone consistent linchpin in the receiving room.

Retirement or not, football might be the last thing currently on the 36-year-old’s mind, as he is preparing for his wedding to music icon Taylor Swift this summer in Rhode Island.
