DWYANE WADE ON TOMLIN

The news of Mike Tomlin leaving the Steelers shocked the sports world. He was an NFL mainstay, being with the Steelers for almost 20 years. However, Tomlin is now reportedly set to take time off away from coaching. Even stars from other sports were left surprised by the news.

Former NBA superstar Dwyane Wade took to his YouTube channel to react to Tomlin stepping down. Wade was one of the best basketball players in the world during the 2000s, and he has experience with a legendary coach stepping down. He compared Tomlin leaving the Steelers to when Pat Riley left the Miami Heat in 2003. However, Riley eventually returned to coaching. Tomlin may not.

TEXANS MASCOT REPAIRS TERRIBLE TOWEL

The Steelers got blown out by the Houston Texans in their playoff game this year. The Texans made sure to gloat about their victory, too. Their mascot took to Twitter and ripped a Terrible Towel. However, the Texans quickly learned about the curse of the Terrible Towel. Opponents who disrespect it have often dealt with misfortune soon after, including the Texans, who lost to the New England Patriots.

The Texans’ mascot took to Twitter once again following that defeat. However, this time it tried to repair the Terrible Towel. It’s a little late to get rid of the curse this year, though. The Texans are out of the playoffs. Maybe the mascot’s attempt will help the team next season.

STEELERS’ DONATIONS

The 2025 season didn’t end well for the Steelers. They didn’t win a playoff game, then their head coach resigned. That leaves them with a lot of question marks. However, they still accomplished a lot of good this season.

Steelers Community Relations shared all of the ways that the team gave back to others during the 2025 season. They donated almost $600,000, as well as served or distributed 1,370 meals. Even with Mike Tomlin gone, the Steelers should continue helping others going forward.
