There are a few certainties in life: don’t spit in the wind, don’t tug on Superman’s cape, and don’t desecrate the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Terrible Towel. But it appears Toro, the Houston Texans mascot, had to learn this lesson the hard way following his decision to tear the towel in half a few weeks ago.

In a hilarious video posted to social media on Friday, Toro attempted to undo the curse he clearly invoked on the Texans with the use of tape, staples, and hot glue on the two pieces of the ripped Terrible Towel.

After the Texans’ Wild Card win over the Steelers on January 12, Toro ripped a Terrible Towel in half, which may have played a huge part in C.J. Stroud’s struggles, as he finished the contest with four interceptions.

One of the more recent examples of the curse occurred in 2023, as the Jacksonville Jaguars were struck after safety Andrew Wingard stole a few Terrible Towels and waved them in mockery of the Steelers. The Jaguars would struggle to win many games following the incident, going 4-13 the next season.

The Steelers have far bigger concerns to worry about than teams impacted by the Terrible Towel curse, however, as the head coach search continues to loom large in Pittsburgh.
