Anthony Hill Jr. could always be relied upon to deliver a smile and a laugh every time he stepped behind a microphone. But when he put on his Texas football uniform, he played with a unique aggression.

That temperament served Hill well on the Forty Acres. He anchored a pair of outstanding Texas defenses in 2024 and 2025 as the Longhorns’ do-everything middle linebacker, finishing his Texas career loaded with individual honors and team success. In Hill’s three seasons on campus, Texas accumulated a 35-8 record and made two trips to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff.

Now, he’s bringing his hard-hitting attitude to the NFL, having chosen to forego his senior season and make the jump to the professional ranks.

Anthony Hill Jr. scouting report

Strengths:Excels in pass-rushing situations while also standing out as a traditional run-stopping middle linebacker. Has the athleticism to cover NFL tight ends. Has consistently shown well in key short-yardage situations. Plays the game with violence. Elite tackler.

Weaknesses: Has not necessarily shown linear growth after an outstanding sophomore season in 2024. Allowed receptions on more than 71% of his targets in coverage in 2025.

What our reporter noticed: Hill has a habit of making game-defining plays. He intercepted two passes and forced three fumbles in just 10 games in 2025, and has a history of showing up in the backfield in key moments, especially during the Longhorns’ CFP run in 2024, when he collected an SEC-leading 16.5 TFLs. He did not quite take the step from elite in 2024 to dominant in 2025, but don’t bet against him becoming a standout pro at the next level.
