Mike McDaniel has declined another interview.
According to The Athletic, the former Dolphins coach canceled his expected meeting with the Bills on Friday to interview for their open head coach position.
McDaniel also previously canceled an interview with the Browns.
The 42-year-old is still in contention for the Raiders’ head coaching job. If he ends up taking an offensive coordinator position, it will be with the Chargers. According to The Athletic, that deal is not yet finalized.
The Bills were expected to meet with McDaniel in Florida. They fired Sean McDermott on Monday, opening the head coach position.
McDaniel was fired earlier this month after four years as Miami’s head coach. He had a 35-33 regular season record and was 0-2 in the postseason. The Dolphins reached the playoffs in his first two seasons.
The Bills have completed interviews with Buffalo offensive coordinator Joe Brady and former Giants head coach Brian Daboll. According to The Athletic, Bills quarterback Josh Allen will have “significant say” in the team’s hire.
