The New York Jets are wiping their coaching staff of a few more familiar faces.
According to multiple reports from Friday, the Jets and head coach Aaron Glenn have parted ways with six staffers—including offensive passing game coordinator Scott Turner and defensive line coach Eric Washington. Both Turner and Washington previously spent time with the Carolina Panthers under former head coach Ron Rivera.
Turner, son of former Panthers offensive coordinator Norv Turner, picked up a pair of stints with Carolina. He served as an offensive quality control coach from 2011 to 2012, then as their quarterbacks coach from 2018 to 2019.
Washington also joined the Panthers in 2011, as their defensive line coach. After seven seasons in that role, he was then promoted to defensive coordinator for the 2018 and 2019 campaigns.
New York, a little over a month ago, relieved former Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks of his duties as defensive coordinator. Wilks was replaced by Chris Harris, who played safety in Carolina from 2007 to 2009.
