After the Cleveland Browns met with Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski for a second interview on Friday, they are slated to meet with Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase for a second interview on Monday. The Browns have held off on hiring a coach while other hires have been made; they really want to talk to Scheelhaase and are willing to wait while the Rams keep playing in the playoffs.

Cleveland.com’s Browns Insider Mary Kay Cabot reports that one league source told her the Browns are willing to fly out to LA to interview Scheelhaase if that’s what it takes. It is clear that Andrew Berry and the rest of the Cleveland Browns brass are very interested in Scheelhaase and the possibility that he could be Kevin Stefanski’s replacement.

Scheelhaase is a former college quarterback for Illinois, where he started his coaching career in 2015 as an assistant, and was an assistant until joining the Iowa State coaching staff in 2018. He joined Sean McVey’s staff in 2024 as an offensive assistant and passing game specialist before becoming the pass game coordinator this season.
