After a dozen years of blowing through six different head coaches, the New York Giants believe they finally have their man in John Harbaugh.

Harbaugh, who the Baltimore Ravens fired after the season, didn’t last very long on the market thanks to the Giants. They acted quickly and forcefully to land Harbaugh, inking him to a five-year deal worth a reported $100 million.

The hopes and expectations have been raised at 1925 Giants Drive to the level where the sky is the limit. The players believe they finally have a chance to compete for a championship once again.

“Even though New York’s different of its own, he (Harbaugh) embraces that, he embraces the lights, he embraces the competitiveness, the drive, the urgency to be the best,” quarterback Jaxson Dart told the New York Post this week. “And I think that when you have the vision of what this place can be and what it will be, he’s the right guy for this job.

“I think he was the coach that every single one of us had at the top of our list. He was the coach that we all wanted to play for. I can’t wait to get after it with him.”

Dart is not alone in his sentiment. The entire organization has been energized and uplifted by Harbaugh’s arrival. Dart sees the Giants as a group that will finally all be on the same page.

“I think the message is that we have our guy, we have our coach, we have a leader that’s done it, who’s competed, who’s won at the highest level, and from a player’s standpoint, he’s gonna get the buy-in from us because we’re starving to win,” Dart said. “We’re starving to have success, and we have the pieces, and we were close in a lot of games this year. I know Coach Harbaugh’s gonna be the guy that’s gonna lead us and put us in the best situation to win each and every game that we play.

“We’re gonna play fearless, we’re gonna play physical, and we’re gonna do our best to set a new standard.”

The fans can’t wait, and apparently neither can the players. It’s a new day in North Jersey.
