Championship Weekend is upon us, and in Nashville, the Tennessee Titans are busy putting the pieces together for their coaching staff under new head coach Robert Saleh, another change after a disappointing season.

Not only have the Titans struggled on the field in recent seasons, but their dysfunction as an organization has also played a significant role in the team’s demise. From the moment the Titans traded A.J. Brown, the spiral began, and unfortunately, fans have to see the results every week as former fan favorites find success elsewhere.

Nothing exemplifies that more than this conference weekend, and the Titans littered throughout the rosters, of course, headlined by New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, who was unceremoniously fired by the organization only to find a home (and success) in Foxboro with the Patriots.

While his success is surely frustrating for Titans fans, his immediate success should give them hope that the new football combination of general manager Mike Borgonzi and Robert Saleh will usher in a new, successful chapter of Titans’ football. While that will take some time to determine, here is a look at former Titans playing for a chance to reach the Super Bowl.

HC Mike Vrabel – New England Patriots – Year(s) with Titans: 2018-2023

While Vrabel isn’t a player, he must be mentioned after his success at the helm of the Patriots. A hard-nosed coach, he compiled a 54-45 record in Nashville, going 2-1 in the playoffs.

Dobbs has carved out a role as a highly respected backup quarterback in the NFL and spent part of the 2022 season with the Titans. The veteran quarterback played in two games that season, going 40-of-68 for 411 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, while chipping in another 44 yards on eight carries.

LB Jack Gibbens – New England Patriots – Year(s) with Titans: 2022-2024

It was somewhat of a surprise when the Titans let Gibbens leave the organization as a free agent after the 2024 season. When given a chance, he was productive in Nashville and again proved that with the Patriots in 2025. During his time in Nashville, he accumulated 167 total tackles (93 solo) and 1.5 sacks in three seasons.

TE Austin Hooper – New England Patriots – Year(s) with Titans: 2022

Hooper joined the Titans in 2022 after six successful seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns and had a solid season. In his only year in Nashville, he pulled in 41 passes for 444 yards and two touchdowns.

LB Ernest Jones IV – Seattle Seahawks – Year(s) with Titans: 2024

Jones created a buzz when he landed in Nashville after being traded from the Los Angeles Rams at the end of training camp. Unfortunately, he didn’t last long enough to make an impact and was surprisingly traded to the Seahawks at the trade deadline weeks later by former general manager Ran Carthon. In all, he played in six games with 44 total tackles (29 solo) with the Titans.

OLB Harold Landry III – New England Patriots – Year(s) with Titans: 2018-2024

Although Landry was ruled out of the game with a knee injury, his impact with the Patriots in 2025 was visible. Released by the Titans due to financial implications, he continued his consistent play and was a valuable leader for the Patriots. Over his six seasons with the Titans, he was a leader and arguably their best edge player, compiling 397 total tackles (146 solo) with 51.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.

CB Roger McCreary – Los Angeles Rams – Year(s) with Titans: 2022-2025

McCreary was traded to the Rams at the trade deadline. Originally a second-round draft choice of the Titans in the 2022 NFL draft, he developed into one of the better slot cornerbacks in the NFL. Over his three-plus seasons in Nashville, he accumulated 253 total tackles (196 solo) with four sacks and three interceptions.

OL Sam Mustipher – Denver Broncos – Year(s) with Titans: 2025

If you blinked, you might have missed his stint with the Titans. Mustipher went to training camp with the Titans in 2025 and was in a battle at center while Lloyd Cushenberry was recovering from his Achilles injury.

OL David Quessenberry – Los Angeles Rams – Year(s) with Titans: 2019-2022

Since becoming a sixth-round pick of the Houston Texans in the 2013 NFL draft, Quessenberry has carved out a solid NFL career playing for five NFL franchises, including three with the Titans. He did score a touchdown against Tennessee on his lone reception as a tackle eligible in 2019.

LB Robert Spillane – New England Patriots – Year(s) with Titans: 2018

Spillane had to leave Nashville to find success in his NFL career, but got his start with the Titans in 2018 after signing as an undrafted rookie free agent. Initially a member of the team’s practice squad, he was signed to the active roster a month later and made his NFL debut against the Baltimore Ravens. While the two games he played as a rookie didn’t show up on the stat sheet, they laid the foundation for a successful NFL career.

TE Nick Vannett – Los Angeles Rams – Year(s) with Titans: 2024

Vannett has been a solid tight end throughout his career, bouncing around the league with eight different NFL franchises since entering the league as a third-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2016 NFL Draft. In his only year in Nashville, he finished with 17 receptions for 135 yards and three touchdowns. Vannett is on the active Rams roster, but has yet to make an impact in 2025.Â
