The Jets have fired multiple assistant coaches according to reports.
None of this comes as a major surprise. It is common for a rookie head coach to make changes to his staff after the first year, particularly when that first year goes poorly.
The Jets also find themselves looking for a defensive coordinator after Steve Wilks’ in season firing.
Obviously a lot went wrong for Aaron Glenn in his first season managing the Jets. The issues went far beyond the composition of his coaching staff, but it does seem clear that he got a number of his key hires wrong.
A lot will need to change with the Jets over the course of the next few months. It will be important for the team to upgrade the talent on a roster that has virtually none. Glenn also needs to find far more effective hires for year two than he made in year one.
