New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo provided an encouraging update on his recovery from a season-ending ankle injury during a recent appearance on the Roommates Show podcast.
“I’m good,” Skattebo told Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. “Just got cleared after 12 weeks to start jogging around and get moving again. Slowly but surely.”

The injury occurred in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, when Skattebo suffered a dislocated right ankle along with a fibula fracture and deltoid ligament rupture. He underwent surgery shortly after, ending his promising debut season prematurely after seven games.
Recovery milestones have been steady. By early December, Skattebo ditched his scooter and was seen walking into the team facility unaided. Now, approximately 12 weeks post-surgery, the green light to jog marks another significant step.
Giants general manager Joe Schoen recently confirmed Skattebo is fully on track, stating the running back will be ready for the offseason program beginning in April.
Skattebo has remained resolute throughout rehabilitation.

“I’m going to be back,” he previously vowed. “I played seven games in the NFL, and I got hurt. There’s a long road ahead, and that’s not going to stop me.”
The 2025 fourth-round pick out of Arizona State is poised for a strong return in 2026.
