The Kansas City Chiefs quickly became a hot destination for impact players during the Patrick Mahomes era. The team’s recent dynasty captured its first Super Bowl in the 2019 season, in part due to a late defensive acquisition.
Pro Football Hall of Fame hopeful Terrell Suggs recently spoke with Marshawn Lynch and Mike Robinson on the ‘Get Got Podcast’. He shared the story of how he ended his career in Kansas City, earning his second Super Bowl title.
“Andy Reid called me. He didn’t even call my agent. I don’t even know how he got my ******* number to this day,” said Suggs, “Yeah, I hung up the phone, and Patrick Mahomes called me. He was the show then, you know what I’m saying? Yeah, he was the show. He was like, ‘Sizzle, come get the Super Bowl ring.’ I said, ‘OK, I’ll be there in the morning.'”
Suggs was recently announced as a candidate in the Modern-Era Players category, having reached the Semifinalist stage for possible election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026. He played two regular-season games for Kansas City, recording one sack, and three postseason games for four combined tackles.
