The Dallas Cowboys interviewed Jonathan Gannon to be their next defensive coordinator but opted to hire Christian Parker. On Sunday morning, Gannon found his next stop.

According to multiple reports, Gannon has agreed to become the next defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers were a late addition to the coordinator market after their DC Jeff Hafley agreed to become the Dolphins’ next head coach.

He’ll join Matt LeFleur’s coaching staff and coordinate a defensive unit led by former Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons. Gannon was fired after three seasons as the Cardinals’ head coach from 2023-25 and compiled a 15-36 record. Prior to his stint in Arizona, he served as the Eagles’ defensive coordinator from 2021-22.

Gannon was a finalist for the Cowboys’ DC vacancy and was one of three coaches brought in for in-person interviews.

In his two seasons as Philadelphia’s defensive coordinator, Gannon’s defense jumped from 18th in points allowed and 10th in total yards to eighth and third, respectively.

While there is not a date announced yet, the Cowboys will visit the Packers in 2026, so Dallas will face Gannon in Green Bay right away.
