Cameron Jordan has put together a career worthy of the Pro Football Hall of Fame with the New Orleans Saints, but he’s reached a point where he’s taking things one year at a time before committing to another season. Now, with his contract expiring in March and his best year as a pass rusher in years behind him, that decision isn’t as simple as it may have been six months ago. Jordan’s 10.5-sack season in 2025 could have playoff teams calling him in 2026.
During an interview with his old teammate Terron Armstead on The Set podcast, Jordan cleared the air. If the decision were solely up to him, he’s confident about where he’ll be playing football in 2026.
“94% that I come back as a Saint,” Jordan replied. “You know, I’ve never seen myself in any other colors. Like where else would I rather be? And at the same time, you know, you got to let that play out however it is. You know what I’m saying? Like where lese would I rather be?”
That’s been Jordan’s line for a while, but he’s sticking to it. Seeing a rookie quarterback turn a losing season around with a playmaking teammate on the defensive line has energized him. The way Jordan sees it, guys like Tyler Shough and Chase Young look like rallying points to build around and finish his career on a high note. The challenge will be re-signing him to a contract that respects Jordan’s value on the open market and makes sense for where the Saints’ financial bookkeeping is at.
And for his part, Jordan isn’t going to let his other interests fade away: “And at the same time, I’m also really enjoying this media space. Like the way that I’ve been attacking the media spot, like I’m having a great time here, too. In my mind, I’m happiest when I’m around great people, great locker room, you know, and that locker room doesn’t have to be a football locker room. And at the same time I’d love for it to be a football locker room. In my mind, I want to be valued.”

He’s done a lot of work on camera for CBS Sports, NFL Network, and ESPN, among other major outlets. He’s got options outside of playing football, and he knows it. Hopefully Jordan and the Saints can reach an agreement that both parties are happy with. There’s incentive for both sides to cut a deal here. Let’s see if they can get it done.
