Miami Dolphins fans have had a few long-standing complaints with their football team these past few years.
One of the most prevalent ones was tied to the durability (or lack thereof) of these past few Dolphins teams. There are compounding variables that led to extensive injury reports each week these past few years: an older roster prior to 2025 and plenty of investments in players with injury histories before arriving in Miami being among them. But the team’s training staff and strength & conditioning have drawn ire, too. Some of that ire is likely misplaced. But one thing we do know about Jeff Hafley‘s Miami Dolphins is that they’re adding to the strength & conditioning program with new staff. A new hire has emerged. He is, unsurprisingly, from Green Bay.
Dolphins reportedly hiring Todd Hunt from Green Bay Packers to bolster strength & conditioning staff
The newest Miami Dolphin to have come from Green Bay is strength and conditioning coach Todd Hunt. Hunt has spent the last two seasons in Green Bay and, before that, served on the Cincinnati Bengals staff from 2019 through 2023. In Green Bay, Hunt operated with a specialty focus on quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends, linebackers, and specialists. His exact role on the Dolphins’ new staff is yet to be determined.
Hunt has a background in strength & conditioning that reaches back to the college ranks as well. He was a player at Fresno State and served as a graduate assistant working as a coach on the defensive line for Fresno before taking on a strength & conditioning job with the Illinois program in 2018. He made the leap to the NFL the following season.
Safe money would have Hunt as not the last Packer to make the migration to South Florida. New regimes usually register sweeping changes — be that to the support staff, the coaching staff, the roster, the training staff, or the front office. Miami’s sweeping change is well underway, with Hunt as a hand-picked transplant to hopefully put those fan complains about strength & conditioning to rest.
