The San Francisco 49ers are set to have the No. 27 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and though the team has a few pressing needs, general manager John Lynch is predicted to use their top selection to bolster a roster strength.

NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah predicts the 49ers will use the 27th pick on Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq.
Here is what Jeremiah had to say about Sadiq and his fit in San Francisco:
“Sadiq could go much higher than 27th overall. He’s undersized, but he has outstanding speed and is a competitive blocker. He would be the ultimate chess piece for Kyle Shanahan, giving the coach a hybrid of George Kittle and Kyle Juszczyk.”
Sadiq was one of the top tight ends in the nation in 2025, posting 51 receptions for 560 yards and eight touchdowns.
Tight end isn’t a major need for the 49ers, even though George Kittle is expected to miss the start of the 2026 season as he recovers from an Achilles’ tear.

However, adding Sadiq to Kyle Shanahan’s offense would be electric, as the Oregon product would form a dynamic duo with George Kittle and give Shanahan a versatile freak of nature in the tight end room.
Taking a tight end in Round 1 while having other needs would be a risky move from San Francisco. However, if Sadiq is on the board when the 49ers are on the clock at No. 27 overall, it’ll be hard to pass on the electric tight end.
