The Atlanta Falcons have completed their coaching staff for 2026, naming Craig Aukerman as special teams coordinator under new head coach Kevin Stefanski.Aukerman joins the Falcons after a season with the Miami Dolphins in the same role. He brings 26 years of coaching experience, including 16 in the NFL, half of that as a coordinator.During his lone season in Miami, Aukerman’s special teams were strong, helping kicker Riley Patterson make 93.1% of his field goals and ranking among the league’s better units in punt and kickoff returns.Before Miami, Aukerman spent a season with the Los Angeles Rams and seven years with the Tennessee Titans, where he served as special teams coordinator and assistant head coach. During his time in Tennessee, Aukerman coached four postseason teams, two AFC South champions, and two Pro Bowl players: punter Brett Kern and long snapper Morgan Cox.Aukerman began his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011 and worked with the Chargers and Broncos before making stops at Kent State, Miami University, Western Kentucky and Findlay at the college level. A native of Ohio, he played wide receiver and defensive back at Findlay, earning two NAIA All-American honors and a national championship. He was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2013.The Falcons also added Robert Prince as wide receivers coach and Bob Quinn as senior advisor to the head coach. Prince spent 2025 with Miami, while Quinn was with the Cleveland Browns.
