New Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Christian Parker has begun the process of reshaping the defensive staff in his image by relieving defensive passing game coordinator Andre Curtis, secondary coach David Overstreet and linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi of their duties. per sources.
Parker, 34, the former Philadelphia Eagles defensive passing game coordinator, was hired last week to replace the fired Matt Eberflus.
Eberflus brought in Curtis, Overstreet and Borzoni as his top lieutenants when he joined head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s initial staff.

The Cowboys also said good bye to defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton. Whitecotton was one of nine initial interviews for the Cowboys defensive coordiantor job before Schottenheimer settled on Curtis.
The Tennessee Titans requested to interview Whitecotton for their open defensive coordinator position but hired on Monday to be the team;s defensive line coach and run game coordinator.
The Cowboys are also already looking at a possible replacement or alternative. They interviewed Vikings assistant defensive line coach Marcus Dixon. Dixon, 41, has been with the Vikings since 2024. He worked with Parker for two years when both were with the Denver Broncos.
Parker and the Cowboys have also interviewed Eagles assistant linebackers coach Ronell Williams,

Williams joined the Eagles in 2023, coaching the team’s nickel cornerbacks and then graduating to his assistant LB/defensive quality control role for 2024.
The Cowboys are also including former New York Giants Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen and Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebackers coach Denzel Martin for positions under Parker.
Bowen was a former linebackers coach before he became defensive coordinator.
