ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – One of Rockford’s own is headed to the biggest stage in professional football.
New England Patriots offensive lineman Vederian Lowe will play in Super Bowl LX, marking a major milestone for the Rockford native who grew up dreaming of moments like this.
Lowe spent four years at the University of Illinois before being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2022. He appeared in four games during his rookie season before being traded to New England the following year.
With the Patriots, Lowe earned his first career start in Week 2 of the 2023 season. One of his most memorable moments came in 2024, when he caught a goal-line touchdown pass from quarterback Drake Maye, a rare highlight for an offensive lineman.
Now in the 2025 season, Lowe has become part of a Patriots team that has made a run to the Super Bowl. His appearance in Super Bowl LX caps a steady climb through college football, the NFL Draft and multiple roster moves.
