As the dust settles on Robert Saleh and the Tennessee Titans‘ coming to terms with former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll to be the team’s next offensive coordinator, some details are emerging on his path to Nashville.

Daboll has been a hot commodity throughout this coaching cycle, landing multiple head-coaching interviews, as well as others for open offensive coordinator positions, with the highest-profile being with the Philadelphia Eagles early in the offseason. While there appears to have been interest on both sides, Mike Garafolo reports that the relationship forged between Saleh and Daboll in New York trumped the prospect of working with Jalen Hurts.

Daboll also reportedly has a strong desire to work with Cam Ward. The Giants did their homework on Ward during the pre-draft process and were said to have made multiple attempts to trade into the top spot to grab the young signal caller. That is all in the past now, and Daboll will join Saleh and Ward in Nashville and attempt to use his 30-plus years of experience to turn the Titans‘ struggling offense around.

The next step will be to build the rest of his offensive staff under Daboll and, potentially, to sort out a line of succession. Although he signed a three-year contract to be the offensive coordinator, a solid season guiding the Titans’ offense in 2026 could boost his chances on the 2027 coaching carousel.
