Members of the Bills Mafia are reacting to the team’s decision to promote offensive coordinator Joe Brady to be the team’s 21st head coach in franchise history.Â
“Nothing is going to change. They should have kept the coach that they had,” Veronica Gerald said.
“Is this the change you think Buffalo needs? Yes, I mean, they need a lot of help on offense. Instead of just waiting to go for it in the third quarter, they need to not be afraid to go for it in the 4th. Don’t be afraid to push your partner,” Kyle Jackson added.
Brady inked a five-year deal Tuesday to be the next Bills head coach. Â
He first joined the Bills as quarterback’s coach in 2022, took over as interim offensive coordinator in 2023 and was then promoted to full-time OC in 2024, the season quarterback Josh Allen was named the league’s Most Valuable Player.Â
Then this past season, Brady’s offense led the league in rushing.Â
With Brady running Buffalo’s offense the past two years, the Bills averaged 30.9 points per game in 2024 and 28.3 this season, both in the top four in the NFL.Â
This comes after a week-long search in which the Bills interviewed nine candidates across the league for the top job.Â
Brady replaces Sean McDermott, who was recently fired after nine years on the sideline. Bills owner Terry Pegula made the decision to fire McDermott after yet another playoff disappointment in an overtime loss to the Denver Broncos.
The team will formally introduce Brady this Thursday at 12 p.m.
