The Atlanta Falcons introduced head coach Kevin Stefanski on Tuesday and he’s already begun filling out his staff. The team hired two new coordinators, adding special teams coach Craig Aukerman and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees to call plays.

Stefanski retained Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, which seems like a wise move considering the team fixed its pass rush and produced two Defensive Rookie of the Year candidates. Atlanta has high expectations, and Stefanski knows he must produce.

The Falcons’ new head coach put out a message to let the fans know he’s getting right to work:

“Hey, Falcons fans. Head coach Kevin Stefanski, here. I’m beyond thrilled to be leading this iconic franchise. We’re going to get to work immediately. I cannot wait to see you at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Rise up.”

The Falcons are reportedly set to host Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham for a second, in-person interview for the team’s GM vacancy this week. Team president Matt Ryan provided an update on the GM search at Stefanski’s introductory press conference.

“We’ve completed a number of interviews up until this point,” said Ryan. “We’re excited about the process. We’re excited about the progress. And we’ve got some in-person interviews coming up in the near future. So that’s where we stand on that.”
