The NFC West clearly was the best division during the 2025 NFL season. Between the 49ers, Los Angeles Rams and Super Bowl-bound Seattle Seahawks were 38 wins and just 13 losses during the regular season.

One team, though, remained an NFC West afterthought: the Arizona Cardinals, who finished with a 3-14 record.

Star 49ers linebacker Fred Warner hilariously explained to the St. Brown brothers — Equanimeous and Amon-Ra — why the Cardinals aren’t on the same level as the division’s premier trio in Wednesday’s episode of the “St. Brown Podcast.

“For some reason, bro, it’s like — you ever seen that meme of like the dragons?” Warner asked. “It’s like the three dragons, and you got the dragon over there with his tongue out with the googly eyes. Unfortunately, that’s the Cardinals right now.”

Warner was referring to this classic meme:

No lies detected.

The Cardinals haven’t won the NFC West since 2015 and have finished third or fourth in the division in eight of the 10 seasons since.

In other words, Arizona hasn’t amounted to much since All-Pro Fred entered the league in 2018, making the hilarious dragons meme Warner cited a good comparison for the Cardinals.

Warner sure did flame Arizona, but he did so when hyping up the entire NFC West. He and the St. Brown brothers initially discussed the league’s top divisions, focusing on the NFC West as well as the NFC North, which the St. Browns mainly have called home in the NFL.

“Oh yeah. Easily,” Warner said about the NFC West being No. 1. “I know, of course, the NFC North guys are going to talk about ‘Oh, man, NFC North ball’ … Now listen, you know what the arguments are going to be in that situation.

“But I mean, of course this year, it’s not a question — over the last decade. For as long as I’ve been playing, it’s always been us [NFC West]. We’ve put that belt to the NFC North plenty of times. It’s all in good competition though. This year, we had three teams that were playing for the [No. 1] seed in our division.”

The Seahawks had to get through the 49ers and Rams to reach Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. That is all one would need to know to understand Warner’s perspective.
