The Los Angeles Rams‘ loss to the Seattle Seahawks can be pinned on a lot of different things, but one of the top issues that’s plagued L.A. all season was cornerback play.

This is currently the Rams’ biggest need, and they have several avenues to fix it. L.A. has two first-round picks, a good amount of salary cap space and enough overall assets to trade for a quality cornerback.

Will they for any of these? That remains to be seen. But Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox thinks one veteran cornerback who could be on the trade block would be a great play for the Rams to acquire for this offseason.

Knox picked the Rams as the top landing spot for Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, who recently sounded unsure of his future with the team following the firing of head coach John Harbaugh and the hiring of ex-Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as his successor.

The issue for Humphrey is the fact that he’ll turn 30 in July and is set to carry a cap hit of $26.3 million in 2026, the final year of his contract. Cashing in Humphrey a year before he hits the open market could make some sense for the Ravens.

Given Humphrey’s age, Baltimore might not expect more than a middle-round pick for Humphrey this offseason.

While Humphrey was part of a bad defense in 2025, his status as a former Pro Bowler will likely draw interest from several cornerback-needy teams.

The Los Angeles Rams, whose secondary struggled in the NFC Championship Game, might be near the front of the line to take a flier on Humphrey. Much will depend on whether Matthew Stafford is back for another run, but if he is, L.A. may go all-in on chasing a championship next season.

Knox’s expected trade package for Humphrey is pretty reasonable: a 2026 fourth-round pick and a conditional 2027 sixth-round pick. General manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay would surely pay that price to acquire Humphrey despite his age and contract. He missed just three games in 2025 and finished with 68 combined tackles, four interceptions, 13 defended passes and one sack — solid numbers for an aging player.

The Rams are no strangers to older cornerbacks, either. Ahkello Witherspoon, 30, started six games for L.A. this year before his collarbone injury and Darious Williams, 32, started three games and played in 12. Humphrey would likely replace both immediately.

This type of deal also wouldn’t preclude the Rams from drafting a young cornerback in the first round. Current starter Cobie Durant is an impending free agent and Emmanuel Forbes is still a developing player on the rookie contract. Swapping Witherspoon, Williams and possibly Durant for someone like Humphrey and a rookie would be a huge upgrade for the Rams’ defense in 2026.
