How did the Washington Commanders rank in home attendance in the 2025 season?

The Commanders were coming off of their tremendously surprising 2024 season where they finished 12-5, and in addition, winning two road playoff games. How much more did attendance grow in the 2025 season as a result of the excitement from the 2024 season?

In the 2024 season, the Commanders’ home attendance was 570,854, which ranked No. 17 in the NFL. In the 2025 season, the Commanders drew only 514,362 fans to their home games, ranking No. 28 in the NFL.

Why did the Commanders attendance numbers decrease in 2025?

Well, honestly, they didn’t. You see at first glance I thought the Commanders attendance was down as well, but then I recalled the Commanders played 9 home games in 2024, to only 8 at home in 2025. So when I averaged these actual numbers it revealed the Commanders average home attendance was 64,295.25 in 2025 to 63,428.22 in 2024. This means the Commanders home attendance in 2025 was actually up 1.4%.The 2025 Commanders were so beat up and Jayden Daniels was only able to start and play in seven games. The team stunk, losing eight consecutive games and 10 of their last 12. Once the team was terrible, who wants to go out to all that traffic when you already feel most likely they are going to lose?Following the success of the 2024 team, the Commanders raised ticket prices by roughly 10 percent. That couldn’t have gone over too well for the fan base. Once the team was losing eight straight, one can easily understand many saying, “I’m good, no need to go to anymore games this season. I’ll even take a loss if I can’t sell my tickets for the last couple of games. I am simply not putting myself through that anymore this season.”Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.

The Commanders won their first two games last season at Northwest Stadium and didn’t win again past September. Now you know why the burgundy and gold were outnumbered in their own stadium.
