Former New York Giants running backs coach Ladell Betts is nearing a move to Miami.
Betts spent the 2025 season with the Giants — his first with the team. The former Washington Commanders running back helped the Giants finish with the fifth-most rushing yards in the NFL with 2,195.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that Betts is set to take the reins of the Dolphins‘ running game.
After a season that led to measurable progress for New York on the ground, Betts will look to lead the NFL’s fifth-leading rusher in De’Von Achane, who is fresh off recording 1,350 rushing yards in 2025.
The Dolphins did not have another rusher go for more than 288 yards on the year. Betts has a track record of developing Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Cam Skattebo into ball-carriers who both played well while sharing responsibilities with Devin Singletary in New York.
Miami will look to the Missouri native to amplify its ground game in 2026.
