The Denver Broncos came painfully close to a Super Bowl appearance, but their season ended in heartbreak after a 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.

As the disappointment lingers, the focus has quickly shifted to what Denver must do next to improve.

The Broncos aren’t far off, but one key offensive piece is still missing.

As injuries piled up and J.K. Dobbins missed the entire second half of the season, the Broncos’ rushing attack faded late in the year.

As free agency approaches, Denver is now being urged to make an aggressive push for one of the league’s most versatile running backs:

As Yahoo Sports noted, the Denver Broncos as one of the top potential landing spots for Breece Hall

The Jets star is primed for a “fresh start” after four turbulent seasons in New York.

“He is a smooth operator with some impressive explosiveness, and he’s a great pass catcher,” CBS Sports Zachary Pereles noted.

That combination has fueled growing belief that Denver should be at the front of the line once free agency opens.

A Star RB Hidden on a Bad Jets Team

Despite spending his entire career with the struggling New York Jets, Breece Hall’s production has quietly placed him among the league’s most complete backs.

In 2025, he rushed for 1,065 yards on 4.4 yards per carry, adding 36 receptions for 350 yards as a receiver.

Across four seasons, Hall has totaled 3,398 rushing yards, 18 touchdowns, and nearly 1,650 receiving yards.

This is elite output considering the instability around him.

Even after recovering from an early-career ACL tear, Hall has retained his explosiveness, consistently ripping off chunk gains and creating yards after contact.

At just 24 years old, he’s entering his physical prime, a rarity for a running back expected to hit the open market.

Spotrac projects Breece Hall to command a four-year deal worth roughly $41.5 million.

This is a significant investment, but one analysts believe is justified for a true three-down weapon.

Why Denver Is the Ideal Fit

The Broncos don’t need another rotational piece.

They need an explosive back who can take over games with big plays when the offense is stagnant.

Breece Hall fits exactly what head coach Sean Payton looks for at the position.

He is explosive, has great pass-catching ability, and the durability to stay on the field in critical moments.

While rookie running back RJ Harvey provided a big boost in the passing game, he struggled between the tackles, averaging only 3.7 yards per carry.

There’s also a growing belief around the league that Hall never received a fair showcase with the Jets.

Poor offensive line play, quarterback instability, and negative game scripts often masked just how dangerous he can be.

Despite the Jets’ constant instability, he still flashed elite talent, even without a consistent opportunity to fully showcase it.

A change of scenery could unlock a leap similar to Saquon Barkley’s breakout after leaving the Giants for the Eagles

With Russell Wilson’s contract finally off the books and Denver entering the offseason with real financial flexibility, the window is open for the Broncos to make a push on an elite offensive playmaker.
