On Day 2 of the Senior Bowl, a potential position of need for the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason had several standout performers.
Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus put together his standout performers from Wednesday’s Senior Bowl practice, and included were four linebackers.
The level of need for the Jaguars at linebacker in this year’s NFL draft is dependent upon whether or not Devin Lloyd returns as a free agent.
If Lloyd is back, obviously, the need here decreases quite a bit. But if Lloyd signs elsewhere, the starting spot next to Foye Oluokun is up for grabs.
Along with Oluokun, the other linebackers currently under contract for the 2026 season are Ventrell Miller, Branson Combs, Yasir Abdullah, Jalen McLeod, and Jack Kiser.

Rodriguez was one of PFF’s highest-graded run defenders at the linebacker position. He was also very good in coverage, generating four interceptions and three pass breakups. Rodriguez also forced seven fumbles.
“That knack for forcing turnovers was alive and well on Day 2, as he recorded a forced fumble and an interception – many defenders are lucky to even get one of those through the whole week,” wrote Sikkema.
Bryce Boettcher, Oregon
A reliable tackler throughout his career, which helped Boettcher limit pass catchers to only 6.0 yards per reception in 2025. He also logged an interception and three pass breakups.
Owen Heinecke, Oklahoma
A good run defender, who also generated 15 quarterback pressures and four sacks as a blitzer this past season. Heinecke had one pass breakup in coverage, but he did have a higher missed tackle rate.
Xavian Sorey, Arkansas
Sorey created 23 quarterback pressures in 2025. Compared to the other linebackers on this list, he wasn’t as productive as a run defender or in coverage.
“Linebackers Bryce Boettcher, Owen Heinecke and Xavian Sorey were flying around practice as well,” added Sikkema. “Not to say these guys will be top-50 picks, but they were showing the kind of tenacity and violent coaches love to see from the position. It was a great day for a lot of the linebackers in Mobile.”
