Ejiro Evero’s last shot at becoming at head coach in 2026 may be gone.

According to ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, the Las Vegas Raiders plan to interview Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak for their head-coaching job this weekend. And per Fowler, via another candidate, the position may be “[Kubiak’s] to lose.”

The Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator has been a known head-coaching candidate for three teams—the Raiders, the Atlanta Falcons and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Atlanta and Pittsburgh, after interviewing Evero, have since filled their vacancies with former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, respectively.

Evero has had two meetings with Las Vegas. His second, in-person interview took place a little over a week ago in South Florida.

Carolina, through head coach Dave Canales, announced they had extended Evero’s contract prior to the start of the 2025 campaign. His new deal is slated to take him through the 2027 season.
