Who is the breakout candidate for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2026?

Dalton Wasserman of Pro Football Focus recently answered this question for all 32 NFL teams. His selection for the Jaguars? Running back Bhayshul Tuten.

“Tuten recorded a respectable 67.7 PFF rushing grade this season while forcing 19 missed tackles across just 87 carries,” Wasserman wrote. “An expanded role in the passing game could also lead to his breakout.”

Tuten shared the backup running back role with LeQuint Allen this past season. However, of the two, Tuten saw far more opportunities with the ball in his hands.

He brings added juice to the backfield with his speed, helping Tuten generate as many missed tackles as he did.

Out of 59 eligible running backs in 2025, Tuten ranked 15th in PFF’s elusive rating, which measures a running back’s success independent of blocking.

Liam Coen also found ways to get Tuten involved in the passing game as well. Tuten’s ability to move around and operate in space makes him a very good fit for this offensive scheme, giving him the opportunity to flourish under Coen.

Travis Etienne is set to be a free agent this offseason. If he ends up signing elsewhere, then Tuten is in a position to step into that RB1 role for the Jaguars.
