SEATTLE, Wash. – Abraham Lucas is the only former Washington State Cougar on this Super Bowl-bound Seattle Seahawks roster, and he’s on his way to make history.

With a win, Lucas becomes the first-ever former Coug to win a Super Bowl as a Seahawk, and he’s only the third-ever to be in this position.

The Everett native spoke about his Washington connections, and how much it means to win a game like this.

“We were Seahawks fans growing up, and still are, obviously,” Lucas said. “To be doing it with my hometown team is a pretty special thing, and I think my family and parents recognize that as well, and also that there’s still one more. One more opportunity, one more game to win.”

Lucas helps to anchor an offensive line that’s massively improved from a dead-last PFF 2024 ranking to now in the upper half of the league. The tackle spoke about the unit’s and team’s short-term memory in their success.

“While we celebrated it earlier and enjoyed it, is that we have whole other week to prepare for, and there’s going to be a lot of distractions and such this week. Great distractions and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, but we’re focused on the task at hand, which is winning.”

Super Bowl LX kicks off in Santa Clara, California on Sunday, February 8 at 3:30 p.m.
